The beautiful mountain village of Filzmoos is in in the heart of the massive 860Km Ski Amade lift pass and is the ideal base for exploring this massive ski area. The Dachstein Glacier is nearby too. Filzmoos itself is a perfect resort to learn to ski with nursery slopes coming right into the village. In January every year there is the Filzmoos International balloon festival (Night of the Balloons is 10th Jan in 2010). For cross country skiers there are 7 loipes including the high level Rossbrand track at 1600m. There are 3 ski schools and 3 ski / board hire shops. There is an extensive choice of high quality reasonably priced dining venues in Filzmoos as well as several bars. Other facilities in Filzmoos include a Leisure centre with swimming pool, sauna and massage facilities and 2 lane bowling alley. A tobbogan run from the top of the Grossberg chairlift. Other winter pursuits include horsedrawn sleighrides, winterwalking paths, snow shoe walking and ballooning. In summer there are 200km of graded walking / hiking trails and a special walkers bus as well horse riding, fishing, golf, and climbing opportunities. Kitchen Description The studio apartment has a galley kitchen with fridge, full size dishwasher, combination microwave / conventional oven and a 2 ring hob. Lounge Description A small TV lounge with sofa's, TV,VCR,DVD, games and books with complimentary tea and coffee. Dining Room Description A lovely breakfast room which is used in the evenings as a lounge with a well stocked guest fridge and wood burning kachelofen leads onto a large terrace that can be used in the summer for barbecues.
